Routing methods in the DvISE Administrator are defective

Problem The routing methods contain errors. New routing methods can be only defined if another one is deleted.

Moreover existing rules do not work, either.

If you are having trouble with defective routing methods or routing defaults it is recommended to recreate these routing methods within the DvISE Administrator.

Therefore you have to delete the files on file system level which are responsible for the routing methods. However you should export your existing routing methods or routing defaults into a text file. Please perform the following steps to do that:
  • Go the DvISE Administrator below »Databases - Routing - Routing Methods«
  • Select the menu item »Tools - Data Export«
  • Define the separators and the directory and export the data

To remove the routing methods or routing defaults you have to stop the »Service Layer«. Afterwards please go the directory on file system level »DAVID\CODE« and remove the file »DAVID.RDF« for the routing defaults.

Within the directory »DAVID\CODE\DATABASE« you will find the files »DISTRIB.DAT« and »DISTRIB.IDX« which are responsible for the routing methods. These files will be recreated after the restart of the »Service Layer«.

The import of the routing methods or routing defaults happens in the same way like the data export:
  • Go the DvISE Administrator below »Databases - Routing - Routing Methods«
  • Select the menu item »Tools - Data Import«
  • Define the separators and the directory and import the data
