| As basic a correctly installed, parameterized and ready for use bus system is required for the use of the »Automation Module for DvISE«. Currently the electro bus systems EIB and Beckhoff are supported whereat future connections of other manufacturers are not excluded. For connecting the electric bus system to the DvISE Server a so-called bus coupler is required for the corresponding electro bus system. In the following you find some supported bus couplers:
For the use of the functions for the Automation a DvISE installation must exist on acomputer which runs on Microsoft Windows. With use on Novell NetWare or Linux these services are not available. In addition to that a TCP/IP or serial interface (RS232) must be available on the DvISE Server, depending on the used electric bus system. Besides that an appropriate communication port must be installed. For this port no additional port license is required. For the port setup switch to the main menu item »Configuration -> Ports« in the DvISE Administrator and click on »New«. Thereupon the port setup is started. Here click on »Add« to setup a new port or on »Overwrite« when you want to replace an already existing port. In the next dialog select the entry »Extended (e.g. Automation)« from the list of the available hardware and afterwards the desired PlugIn and finish the port installation. After installing a port for automation in the EIB bus system an entry called »Automation« which is used for the operating control is available under the main menu item »Monitor -> Applications«. On the »Communication« tab status messages and debug outputs can be displayed. Notes
