If the DvISE Service Layers hangs during the automatic purge process at night, then this might be caused by a defective Archive.DAT or ARCHIVE.DIR file. To repair a defective ARCHIVE.DAT proceed as follows:
To repair a defective ARCHIVE.DIR proceed as follows: In case of a defective ARCHIVE.DIR, first try to locate the ARCHIVE.DIR by running the purging process manually as described in KnowledgeBase Article Q-106.243. Rename the ARCHIVE.DIR of the last Archive which has been displayed during the purging process of the DvISE Service Layer to for example "archive.dir.bak". Then again start the purging process, and check if it completes without Abending the Server. This procedure must be repeated untill the purging process can be executed without any problems. The defective ARCHIVE.DIR can be recreated as described in KnowledgeBase Article Q-101.313. |
