Possibly this error with the event ID 1069 in the event log of Microsoft Windows is not related to an incorrect logon of the service. If the installtation has been completed successfully there are some other points you need to consider in order that the Connector for Microsoft Exchange for DvISE works without any problems.
  1. Make sure, that the »Microsoft Exchange Routing Engine« service has been started. Afterwards start the Connector to Microsoft Exchange for DvISE again. This is necessary, as the "DvISE Connector" service is subject to the "Microsoft Exchange Routing Engine".
  2. The indication of the Microsoft Exchange 2000 organization includes umlautsson, special or space characters like e.g. "Server Southampton".

To prevent a malfunction of the Connector to Microsoft Exchange for DvISE, your Exchange organization needs to correspond to the RFC 952 Standard. If that is not the case you need to adjust the concerned settings. According to the der RFC 952 neither underlines, umlauts nor special characters are allowed which are not RFC conform. Otherwise we cannot guarantee function for the Connector to Microsoft Exchange for DvISE.

    Note:
More about this topic can be found in Microsoft KnowledgeBase. Moreover please consider beyond the basic information of RFC 952.

To adjust the Microsoft Exchange organization name subject to RFC 952, act as follows:

    • Install the "ADSI Edit" tool, which is available for you on the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server CD in the directory »SUPPORT\TOOLS«. There you have the possibilityi to change the organization name.
    • After installing the "ADSI Edit", change to the prompt.
    • Enter the "regsvr32 adsiedit.dll" command and apply with O.K.
    • Afterwards add the Snap-In "ADSI Edit" through the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
Here you have now the possibility to change the ogranization name:
    • Start the ADSI Edit with the “CONNECT TO” button which can achieved in the kontex menu through the option "Naming Context -> Configuration Container"
    • Within the configuration container change to "CN=CONFIGURATION -> CN=SERVICES -> CN=MICROSOFT EXCHANGE".There the current organization name is displayed. Within the context menu you can change this through the point „RENAME".
Now the Exchange Organisation has been renamed.

Additionally there are still two incorrect entries within the registry of the Connector to Microsoft Exchange for DvISE. Please change these as follows:

    • Go to "Start -> Execute -> regedit32" into the registry.
    • Below “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlset\Services\DavidConnectorForExchange\Parameters" change the organisation name of the Microsoft Exchange Organisation within the keys „ADSPATH“ and „SITEDN“.
    • Re-install the Connector to Microsoft Exchange for DvISE.
