Antwort
In general, the "Server Migration Services for DvISE" offer the following migration possibilities:

  • Migration from Novell NetWare to Microsoft Windows NT/2000
  • Migration from Novell NetWare to Linux
  • Migration from Microsoft Windows NT/2000 to Microsoft Windows NT/2000
  • Migration from Microsoft Windows NT/2000 to Linux

In case the source server itself is not available anymore, you can also use a backup of the DvISE installation which is to be migrated as a source for the migration. You can use any Win32 workstation in the network for this purpose. In that case proceed as follows:

    • Copy the complete »David« directory including all sub-directories and files from the backup to the selected workstation.
    • Make sure afterwards that this directory is released on the workstation.
    • Then start the migration procedure and enter the workstation to which you have just copied the backup as the source server.
Further information regarding the migration can be found in the documentation of the product »Server Migration Services for DvISE«.
