David provides the possibility to take up video recordings via cameras and to administer these in the Tobit Archive System (TAS ). This way, for example, recordings of observation cameras can be created and centrally stored on the David Server. For this the Archive »Archive/Multimedia/Video/Camera-Recordings« is used by default. With the David InfoCenter Mediaplayer it is possible to quickly and easily access the created video files and to view and analyze the recordings.
To be able to create David camera recordings the hardware to be used (camera, possibly appropriate plug-in card) must be installed rsp. connected and operative. On the David Server a current version of the Windows Media Encoder must be installed. As soon as the VideoCapture service is started the item »VideoCapture« is available in the configuration tree of the David.Administrator. Below »Video Capture« an IP camera can now be added by marking the item »Camera« and clicking on »New« in the toolbar. By double-clicking on the new created camera the properties will open. On the »Common« tab you can indicate the name and the desired resolution. The name of the camera entered here is also used for the recordings that are taken up via this camera. On the »Options« tab you define the recording source under »Device / CameraPort«. Here choose your IP camera. Now further configuration fields will be displayed. In the field »URL« enter the IP address of the IP camera. For the access to the IP camera enter the username and the password if necessary. Complete the configuration by clicking on »OK«. Via the David.InfoCenter you can directly access the recorded pictures. In the archive »Archive/Multimedia/Video/Camera-Recordings« there are all so far taken up recordings of all cameras available. Double-clicking on one of these entries opens the corresponding video file in the David.InfoCenter Mediaplayer.
