Using DvISE commands of the parameter »AdditionalCommandID« in the message text

Frage
Problem DvISE commands are used for sending eMails and fax messages from other applications. The parameter »AdditionalCommandID« is indicated as an alternative sequence to the CommandID in the file »DAVID.INI«. Is the use of the character string indicated under »AdditionalCommandID« unrestrictedly possible?

Antwort
When sending fax messages via the Tobit FaxWare printer the character string indicated at the parameter »AdditionalCommandID« for the use of DvISE commands is no longer supported. When sending eMails the commands are not removed from the message text.

In the directory »\\DAVID\CODE\« on the server, the file »DAVID.INI« is found which parameter is analyzed when starting the Service Layer. Here it is defined when the data purging of the server is done, in which intervals certain directories are scanned, etc.

The value that is entered by default after an installation is displayed as "Default" for information under the entry list. Modifications should be made very carefully and elaboratedly because an incorrect entry can cause unpredictable problems and an abend.

If a modification is made then the semicolon must be deleted at the beginning of the first entry line. Only then this manual entry is being readout. The modifications only become effective by restarting the Service Layer.

The entry »AdditionalCommandID = !!« is the alternative sequence to the CommandID which is also freely selectable. This entry should not be modified.
