Antwort
The Server Migration Services for David enable to automatically adopt all David data from one server to another, which, for example, is necessary after changing the server hardware or at changing to different server operating system. Besides all data stored in the Tobit Archive System (TAS), important system settings also will be transferred automatically. By default, the following options will be migrated and possible server and path information will be adjusted to the new destination server:
  • Tobit Archive System (TAS)
  • Archive Routing Methods
  • Additional Licenses and System Settings
  • Service Layer Configuration (DAVID.INI)
  • Charges Database
  • Form Manager
  • Categories
  • Routing Defaults
  • Routing Methods
  • Identification List
  • Collection List
  • Robinson Directory
  • Tracking Database
  • Virus Notify Messages (\DAVID\CODE\VSCAN\*.TXT) and Signatures (*.DAT)
  • Text-to-Speech Settings (\DAVID\CODE\TAUDIO\*.*)
  • Faxheader Images (\DAVID\CODE\RESOURCE\HEADER\*.*)
  • Image Borders (Message Printing; \DAVID\CODE\RESOURCE\MARGIN\*.*)
  • Skip File of the Index Construction (\DAVID\CODE\INDEX\SKIP.TXT)
  • Global OUT-/ IN-Protocol (\DAVID\CODE\DAVID.LOG, DAVID.REC)
  • FaxWare Resources (\DAVID\APPS\FAXWARE\RESOURCE\*.*)
  • DvCC Scripts (\DAVID\TLD\COMMON\*.*)
  • Applications (\DAVID\APPS\*.*)
  • Archives to be observed by the Reminder (entries in the DVREMIND.INI of the users)
Note: The Server Migration Services can be used for migrations from NetWare to Microsoft Windows, from NetWare to Linux, from Microsoft Windows to Linux or from Microsoft Windows to Microsoft Windows. The migration is exclusively possible for David/FaxWare installations from version 6.0. A migration of previous versions is not possible.

If, besides the migration, also an update of the David installation shall occur then at first the existing David installation on the source server must be updated and then afterwards the migration can take place.
